What do teachers have to say about this resource? (4401)
"This is our third year of purchasing and we can't do without it! Very pupil friendly, clear and easy to photocopy... Lot of information and different ways of using it. The children appreciate it." — P Hyatt, Head of Media and Film, Satisfied Customer
excellent as usual... very logical and well-organised... I have been purchasing this revision booklet for three years now and have noticed a significant grade increase in that time which I put partly down to the focused revision in these booklets... It is structured in its approach to the exam questions and provides a wealth of useful background information e.g. information about record labels and publishing... I particularly liked the deconstructions of exemplar magazine pages and the glossary of terms as there were a couple on there I had not yet included with my class i.e. thumbnail and UGC. I also like the structuring of practice examination questions with mark schemes so students can see what is required of them... The best way this enhances learning is the exemplar material as students can see exactly what is required of them. It is also useful to have so much example material in the one place to provide coherence of a study programme for pupils... The resource is good at bringing together all the background information and concepts that the specification asks for i.e. an understanding of representation and industry issues with actual real media examples which can be used in the classroom." — R Coulter, Head of Media Studies & Independent Reviewer
"A good starting point for any student... [background info was] extremely useful for students to know to research the higher grades... The resources accessible for students... Terminology is set out seperately, highlighting its importance." — S Morgans, Media Studies Teacher & Independent Reviewer
"It covers the topic thoroughly, giving students activities to work on... The terminology [section] is essential... Very comprehensive guide. Lots of terminology and for students as well as AFL resources. Clear focus on the exam. Clear writing style and layout made the resource access to the full range of student abilities... website for personal research - fantastic... contains a number of AFL features that help students to focus on their own learning. This includes mark schemes and example answers so students know how well they are doing... students of all abilities are catered for... revision technique section [is] a helpful reminder to all students... The resource matches the WJEC specification well. This is made clear to students via the emphasis on example exam questions that are linked to mark schemes... an invaluable resource to students and teachers alike." — M Thompson, Media Studies Teacher & Independent Reviewer
"The sample answer for Plugged is spot on... I really like the Convergence Mag task!" — J Edwards, Head of Media Studies & Independent Reviewer
